Have you succumbed to the habit of sticking a label on your own head?
How many people do you know who might say, for instance, that
“I have clinical depression”
“I suffer from extreme anxiety and paranoia”
or
“I have been told by my doctor that I am pre-diabetic and my health will deteriorate rapidly”
We should not lose sight of the fact that all these labels are complete rubbish!
Labels are the result of a system which thinks in terms of a diagnosis explicitly so that a suppressive drug or a given treatment regime can be prescribed. But this way of thinking by the conventional healthcare system will only treat symptoms and not the underlying root cause of the problem. The medical practitioner is hence playing god when labelling and judging his/her patients.
The cognitive-behavioural therapist, for instance, will, at best, simply make you more aware of your own suffering but, at worst, will merely help you to manage and to cope with your emotive malaise.
The orthodox medical practitioner, moreover, will only view you in terms of a collection of symptoms in order to prescribe a chemical drug, to give you time off work or to refer you to a so-called specialist. By this means, your medical practitioner may avoid being sued because he/she has followed a strict code of practice which hopefully will stand up in a court of law when you realise that you have been cheated.
Could you now not start thinking in terms of the originating cause rather than the superficial effect?
There is a wealth of information about the corruption in the medical profession and the influential drug barons who have a vice-like grip over the medics and successive governments worldwide who dangle the tantalising carrot of free healthcare before the eyes of the voters.
Are you choosing to ignore these established facts?
Many people thus think that another – supposedly authoritative and knowledgeable person – always knows best. And so the patient can blithely hand over his/her thinking-power to someone else for safe-keeping.
Nothing could be further from the truth but perhaps we have become blinded and brainwashed by what the majority of people believe. And are you too inclined to need a parent-substitute when trouble strikes?
A feeling of anxiety, for instance, may simply be the result of ill-treatment in childhood or rather unsympathetic parents or carers, for instance. A diabetic condition, furthermore, may be the result of a poor diet, an unhealthy lifestyle, too much stress and, almost certainly, an excess of toxicity in the system which can easily be cured by naturopathic means.
Why not address the cause rather than the effect of your ill-health?
All our JMHT practitioners have not adopted the labelling habit because, as part of our training and the trainee’s self-investigative process, we find no need to slap a label on any client or to make any prescriptive judgement. The analytic approach focuses of identifying, investigating and resolving the root cause naturally and not merely treating symptoms with an unhelpful label. The power is thus in the hands of the client as it should be and not the practitioner.
