Mindless Thinking

Posted on 23 April 2025

Insane talk

What many people say aloud can be patently nonsensical, irrational, bewildering and hypocritical to say the least most of the time. People rarely speak logically and succinctly. The reason for this crazy situation resides in the fact that most people frequently indulge in mindless thinking.

When someone exhibits mindless thinking, unfortunately, the rest of the world are then left trying to decipher what has been said and why. Often you may be left open mouthed for days by what someone has said and mystified by the insanity of his/her words.

A good example of everyday mindless talk is the sweeping statements which some people make about the weather, the state of the economy and the government in office. Another form of mindless thinking is making a derogatory generalisation and/or negative judgement about others according to nationality, religion, occupation, status or gender-orientation.

Perhaps you can cite some further examples of this nature either from what you say yourself or from other people whom you know might say to you repeatedly?

Let’s take some examples …

STATEMENT:

“I love my partner and my family.”

REALITY:

Why do you go out drinking with your mates every night?

Why are you frequently unfaithful to your partner?

Why do you not spend any quality time with the kids?

Why do you leave your family continually short of money?

STATEMENT:

“I lead a well-ordered life.”

REALITY:

Why has your home not been cleaned for a month?

Why would your lounge be an embarrassing tip which would shock anyone who called?

Why is your garage stacked to the rafters which junk?

Why are your finances in a total mess and your bank manager is knocking on the door?

STATEMENT:

“I intend to build a really successful business for myself.”

REALITY:

Why do you stay in bed until 10.00 am every morning?

Why do you not charge enough for your services so that you cannot cover your costs?

Who do you not keep proper accounts or send out your invoices regularly?

Why do you not do any advertising or promotion in order to attract new customers?

STATEMENT:

“I am constantly broke.”

REALITY:

Why will you not touch that £50K which you keep locked away in the bank for a rainy day?

Why do you take expensive holidays far too frequently?

Why do you run a flashy car and waste petrol driving it around just for fun?

Why don’t you look for a decent job?

Are you mystified by mindless thinking?

Now you can stop trying to make sense of mindless thinking because here is the answer to the mystery.

What we say in words is usually a reflection of our inner mind and its state of sheer confusion and distress. The client’s inner mind is often a turmoil of distress, suffering, immaturity and hopelessness which prevents him/her from seeing life realistically, becoming a mature adult and being unaware of the pain which causes the havoc in his/her crazy world.

But these knee-jerk reactions can be easily unravelled with the therapeutic intervention of Analytical Hypnotherapy which will help you to identify and to resolve the root-cause of your seeming insanity.
